History

Located in Cincinnati, Ohio, Camargo was founded in 2003 by drug development experts, Ken Phelps and Dr. Ruth Stevens.  Phelps, Camargo’s President & CEO, has an extensive background and strong relationships within the drug development industry which have catapulted Camargo to expertise status in the 505(b)(2) regulatory approval pathway. Dr. Stevens, Camargo’s Senior Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer, brought her experience from the FDA and a major Phase I/II CRO to provide drug development strategies and regulatory insights to clients in over 26 countries. Just five years after opening, Camargo was recognized as one of Cincinnati’s 55 fastest-growing private companies.

Over the years, Camargo’s unique business model, commitment to client service and breakthrough strategy has highlighted the team of experts as leaders in the industry. In 2009, Phelps was recognized by PharmaVOICE magazine and its readers as one of the 100 most inspiring people in the life sciences industry.
