Ray Dawkins, M.D., Chief Medical Officer

With more than 30 years in medical and clinical research, Dr. Ray Dawkins has developed extensive clinical expertise in major therapeutic areas, including cardiovascular, infectious disease, immunology, endocrinology, hematology, gastroenterology, and dermatology. His management skills include data and study management, statistics, safety signaling, and medical writing. At Camargo, he is responsible for the direction of the company’s medical and clinical consulting services.

 

Prior to joining Camargo, Dr. Dawkins was the senior medical director for clinical development at Talecris Biotherapeutics, where his duties included submissions to and interface with regulatory agencies, as well as medical and safety monitoring. He also held positions as the director of medical and scientific services for Quintiles, Inc., and Phase I clinic medical director for PPD Development. In addition to his clinical experience, Dr. Dawkins spent several years within private practice in internal and general medicine, and served as hospital chief of staff and hospice director.

 

Dr. Dawkins received his BS in zoology from North Carolina State University and earned his M.D. from the Duke University School of Medicine.
